About the author

I wrote my first book when I was thirteen. It was, admittedly, a thirteen year

old's work of art, and though it was never published, the experience

was so much fun that I felt compelled to do it again. And again. Three

months before my twentieth birthday I finally had my first book accepted for

publication. That was the first of The Tessler Triplets books, and it was

published by Targum Press.

Over the years my writing morphed from a teenage hobby to something a bit more sophisticated. These days writing, translating and mothering are my full time occupations.

I work at home in Beitar Illit, Israel where I have a stunning view of hills, a valley, and a small Arab village. The view gives me inspiration when I need it, but more than the trees, rocks and meandering herds of sheep, my kids' zany ideas are constantly oiling the idea mill.

I've published over ten YA novels and have written more serial stories for that age group than I can count. My writing has been published in Binah Bunch, Inyan, The Circle and many other frum magazines. My short stories for adults have appeared in The Lakewood Shopper, Ami and Hamodia and I am constantly offering different writing workshops for teens and adults.  I also translate full length novels from Hebrew to English.

What more? I'm married to an Israeli and neither my husband nor oldest daughter (she's twelve) have read any of my writing. Cazy? C'est la vie. That's life. We laugh a lot, do crafts, bake and go on trips together, and it's all a mumbo jumbo of me talking English and my children responding in Hebrish.  My writing and conversations with friends and family from NY, where I grew up, are what keep me grounded in the world of English speakers and readers. It helps keep the words flowing.
